I cannot believe its been a year since we picked up Lola! Lee completely surprised me last Christmas with getting a golden doodle puppy, which I had always wanted. I was so excited I burst into tears!
She was born near Christmas and ready for pick up in February. We got her from Lonestar Doodles and had an amazing experience with them. The owner is a TCU grad and we have several friends who also have Lonestar doodles! Lola is an F1 golden doodle which means she is half poodle/ half golden retriever and she is the medium size. They offer mini, medium, and standard and now offer F1B puppies that are more hypoallergenic & shed less (although Lola hardly sheds). The F1B comes from a golden doodle and a poodle.
A few of our must haves:
Food: we went through several different types before finally sticking with this Purina dog food. Our breeder recommended Fromm but she didnt like it at all and would hardly eat!
Dog Bowl: we have an acrylic dog bowl from Frontgate which appears to be sold out, I found a very similar version at Amazon.
Toys: Lola is definitely a toy-lover, she has so many! A few of her favorites are this cute elephant she carries everywhere, this pineapple toy, and this chuck it ball launcher is so handy for wearing her out!
Bed: We currently have this one from the Target Boots & Barkley line and she seems to love it! She has outgrown a lot of the beds she had as a puppy.
Poochie Bell: If you haven’t heard of the poochie bell, it is a bell that you hang on your door. Lola learned in an afternoon when we first got her how to use the bell to let us know she needs to go out to potty. She never has accidents, it is amazing!
If you have any questions on golden doodles or Lonestar doodles, please feel free to reach out! We truly had the best experience, we could not be more obsessed with Lola! We will definitely get another one some day from Lonestar!
xo,
Laura
