5 months old helping us pack for Colorado!
Happy 2019 friends!!
I think I say this every month, but I cannot believe Charlotte is five months old! This month flew by with the craziness of Christmas. A week before Christmas Charlotte got really sick, we took her to the doctor and she had RSV. If you don’t know what RSV is, its a respiratory virus that can be really serious. It was truly the saddest thing to see her so sick, my heart had never hurt like that before. Luckily, she got well pretty quickly and we were able to enjoy Christmas with our families. I am planning on doing a post soon about how to survive baby’s first sickness, we learned a lot through that experience!
Changes
Charlotte’s changes this month weren’t huge changes. I never realized this before becoming a parent, but the smallest new things she learns amaze us. Like when we are walking down the hall she is turning her head in every direction trying to see which room we are going to. When I change her diaper she grabs my arm now every time and pets it! She is definitely maturing and getting so much stronger. She can hold her head up so well now. I truly can’t believe my tiny 6 pound baby is getting so big! She was so mesmerized by the Christmas Tree and loved looking and reaching for all of the ornaments. It is crazy to think next Christmas she will be a busy toddler running around! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Christmas!
Products
Our house feels like it is now consumed by baby products, especially after Christmas! We got Charlotte this activity center for Christmas and she loves playing in it! It is a little pricey but what I love about it is that the height is adjustable as they grow, and it also can become a table for later on that they can play at. It is so cool to watch her master new skills. Her head control improved so quickly after we put her in it and to see her start to play with all of the toys was so neat! I also love that its not a total eye sore like some of the activity centers I have seen.
Schedule
The older Charlotte gets the more and more I realize that the schedule is hands down the most important thing and you have to stick to it! Her schedule is close to the same as last month.
Feed times: 8:00 AM/ 11:00 AM/ 2:00 PM/ 4:30 PM/ 7:00 PM/ 9:00PM
I would love to get her down to eating 5 times a day but cant quite get there yet! We are going to start solid food next month so I am hoping that will help.
This awake time chart has been a life savor for me. After being awake for two hours, Charlotte is done. I have found that if I remember what time she woke up and follow this, we avoid her becoming cranky or overtired and she goes down for naps so much more easily!
We are headed to Colorado and so excited to spend time with family! Lee and I are both so nervous about how she will do flying for the first time, I will let ya’ll know in next months post!

Laura
