We went to Dallas last weekend with the girls & my family for the first time in forever! It was truly SO much fun. If you are planning a trip soon or looking for fun things to do with kids, here are a few of our favs
Things to Do with Kids
The Dallas Arboretum pumpkin village (with over 100,000 pumpkins) is unlike any other “pumpkin patch” I have ever seen. The girls absolutely loved it and continue to ask if we can go back. I would get there early if you can, as it gets pretty crowded. If the weather is nice, there are so many great spots for a picnic. I’ve heard Christmas & Spring time are also amazing but haven’t been yet!
We also went to the Dallas World Aquarium and the girls had so much fun. It was very different than I expected, almost more like a zoo. It’s all indoors so a great activity for if it’s too hot or bad weather.
The Perot Museum is another fun place to take children. I felt like our girls were a little young for it but they really loved going. There are dinosaurs, gemstones, and lots of interactive things throughout the museum!
There’s also Peppa Pig World in Grapevine that looks adorable if your child is into Peppa!
Places to Eat
Mi Cocina is always a must when we go to Dallas. The Lakewood location is close to the arboretum if you’re looking for a lunch spot afterwards and it has a patio. There is also a location at Klyde Warren Park that is an easy spot with kids.
Toulouse is one of our favorite brunch spots. It’s on the Katy Trail with great food and people watching. Such a cute spot. We also love breadwinners (prefer the location on Lovers) with the girls. Mercat Bistro in Uptown is another favorite, really cute especially for a girls brunch.
For an adults only dinner, Javier’s is a Dallas staple (be sure to check out the dress code). Town Hearth is so fun (and delicious) for a special occasion. Boulevardier is one of our favorite date night spots in Deep Ellum.
For quick/casual: we LOVE Eatzi’s and Shake Shack.
For healthy: True Food Kitchen and Flower Child.
On our list to try: Carbone’s and the Charles (both Italian with rave reviews) and Sadelle’s looks so cute for brunch.
Places to Shop!
Dallas has such amazing shopping. Highland Park Village has all the designer stores like Chanel, Goyard, Hermes, Gucci, etc! And such great restaurants, we love Honor Bar, Cafe Pacific and Mi Cocina (the monkey bar is a great spot on the 2nd floor) in Highland Park Village!
Northpark Mall has all basically all the stores you could ever need. Neimans, Nordstrom, Sephora, Louis Vuitton, Anthropologie, etc! Eataly in Northpark is also super cool to check out, a huge Italian food emporium. There’s also a Breadwinners at Northpark, love their breakfast/brunch food.
I love shopping the Knox/Henderson area after eating in the area. We love Taverna, Toulouse, and the Porch. I have heard the new Restoration Hardware rooftop restaurants is super fun. There is a mix of boutiques, home stores, and big name stores.
Miscellanous
There’s always a fun concert, game or show happening in Dallas so be sure to look at events happening. We love going to Dallas Mavericks games. Lee and I have taken cooking classes at Sur La Table which is super fun (they have kids cooking classes too). Also the Dallas State Fair is coming up soon!!
