Lee and I are so excited to announce our first baby is due in August! This has been such a big secret since we found out and it feels so good to finally share!
It all started at the end of November, I woke up one morning and just felt funny. I don’t know how else to describe it! I decided to take a pregnancy test, never did I think it would actually be positive! We thought we would wait until sometime in 2018 to officially start trying, but God had other plans! 🙂 I was so shocked, I took three more tests! Lee had already left for work and I sent him a text saying, “I think I’m pregnant! Can you come home for lunch?!” So, Lee came home for lunch, saw all the tests lined up and said, “No Way! Take one more test!!” haha! We were both in literal shock! I found out very early, I was only 3 weeks and 5 days along!
That night, we already had plans for Lee’s little brother (coming from Fort Worth) to stay with us. He was in town before Lee got home from work, so we never talked about it the entire night. The next day after he left, we finally got a chance to talk about it! I kept taking more tests every day, wanting to make sure it was really real before I told a soul. A few days later, I told two of my best friends. One of them is pregnant 3 weeks ahead of me and it has been so much fun to go through all of these new, crazy changes together!
Keeping the secret from my mom was the absolute hardest! It felt like eternity. My mom and I are so close. We waited and told my parents on Christmas morning. My parents were SO surprised and so shocked, it was great! I thought for sure my mom would be suspicious! It took them days to get used to the idea of finally becoming grandparents!
We told Lee’s side of the family right after Christmas and it was so much fun to see all of their reactions! He has such a big family (5 siblings!) compared to my small family of four. There’s never a dull moment and they are all so supportive and excited for us! 🙂
I am now almost 14 weeks pregnant and enjoying every minute! I know it’s going to fly by!! We find out the gender two weeks from Friday and we are counting down the days!!
As an expectant first mom, I have no idea what I am doing (which is kind of exciting!). If you have any advice, please don’t hesitate to share in the comments below! Im so excited to share this journey with you all!
