This month has been really hard and really fun all at the same time. We have been struggling to get her to sleep through the night, some nights she does great and other times she wakes up crying multiple times a night. At 3AM one night I downloaded Mom’s On Call out of desperation and read the entire book while rocking her to sleep. We have been trying that for about 10 days so I will let y’all know how it goes, so far it’s working pretty well! If you are a new mom and interested in reading Mom’s On Call, click here for the first book.
Changes
Charlotte is SO busy, busy, busy. She is rolling over the second you set her down now. and wants to crawl, pull up and stand up 24/7. The days of leaving her on the floor and her staying in the same spot are over! This month we also really started introducing more food. I had started doing a little bit when she was 5 months, but have been consistently feeding her solids at least once a day this past month. She absolutely loves it and it’s so funny to watch her try new things. Solids are a whole new world and feels like a lot of work right now, but hopefully will get easier as we get used to it and she starts eating what we are eating. I’m planning on doing a whole post about how we introduced solids.
Charlotte gets bashful and ducks her head sometimes when she meets new people. She has started the “stranger danger” phase, and is a little clingy to Mama when she’s in a new environment. She has started scrunching her nose when she smiles and it’s the cutest/funniest little face. Her little expressions keep us laughing! She wants to talk so badly and has started saying hi, up, more and what sounds like Mama…maybe! 🙂
Favorite Products
Our favorite toys have stayed the same the past couple of months so I thought I’d share the products we are using to feed her. I have tried a couple of different spoons and this one is by far my favorite. We used the Ezpz Mat and really like it. She throws everything on the floor so this works best for sticking to the high chair! Mom’s On Call recommends having a sippy cup present at every meal to get used to it and we use this one, and I just realized it has amazing reviews on Amazon!
Schedule
Since starting Mom’s on Call, I have implemented a new schedule and am trying to follow it the best I can. Obviously it’s hard because we have a life and we just do the best we can! I do notice that the days we stick closer to the schedule, she is happier and sleeps better. I have adjusted the times to what works for us since my husband isn’t usually home until 7-7:30.
The weather has been so gloomy, cold and rainy the past month and we are SO looking forward to warmer weather and sunshine!
xo,
Laura
