My 3rd trimester of pregnancy started mid-May and I was really nervous as to how it would go. Everyone had constantly told me that it would be miserable and it would feel like an eternity. That was totally not my experience!
We had a lot going on during the last trimester so I think that really helped it fly by! We had a bunch of weddings, my sister in laws deb parties, trips planned, our baby shower and so forth! I definitely became tired way more easily, especially when on my feet a lot!
My nesting phase was so strong during this time! I was cleaning out closets and getting super organized. I waited until around this time to really start shopping for her nursery and would advise you all to start earlier! So many things I wanted were on back order for months and I would have to find other things I didn’t love quite as much!
It did become harder to sleep and I started to have bad heart burn for the first time in my life! Tums were a life savor.
So many doctors appointments! Dress from A Pea in the Pod
Exactly one week before I had Charlotte! About to pop while trying to get the nursery ready!
3rd Trimester Must Haves:
I continued to use the Noodle & Boo Elasticity Oil. It was so funny to realize it took months to go through the first bottle and the second bottle got empty so fast because my stomach was so much bigger! Advice: DONT forget to put it on your hips/love handle area. I was totally focused on my stomach and the only stretch marks I got were on my love handle area. 🙁
I started reading On Becoming Baby Wise: Giving Your Infant the Gift of Nighttime Sleep which is all about sleep training your baby. Our goal is for Charlotte to be sleeping through the night by 8 weeks old, but we will see how it goes! 🙂 This book is super helpful and so many people swear by this method.
Your boobs will be huge by the 3rd trimester and all of my bras stopped fitting (mine really stopped fitting at the end of the 1st trimester). Instead of buying new bras in a different size, I went ahead and bought nursing bras that I could use post baby. This bra from Nordstrom is my favorite, it has really good padding and is very comfortable. I also have this one from Target.
Maternity clothes started to become really necessary during this time. I wore this dress from a Pea in the Pod so much and have worn it post pregnancy too! This Splendid maxi dress was also a favorite that I wore all summer long (size up if you have big boobs)! I love the maternity brand Hatch, it is pricey but the clothes can be worn during and after pregnancy. This stripe dress is my favorite, post baby you cannot tell its maternity at all! I also loved shopping on Asos for maternity clothes, they have a ton of great options!
Because we had so many events during the last trimester. I signed up for Rent the Runway unlimited plan. For $99 a month you can have four pieces out at once. This was the best money I spent while pregnant so you don’t have to invest in a bunch of clothes that won’t fit in a few months. You can keep pieces as long as you like, or wear it once and send it right back! They also have accessories you can rent too! If you use my link, you can get $30 off your first purchase. Click here! They have maternity styles but I rented a lot of regular pieces and just sized up!
